SHIFT Grant Program

Our goal is to SHIFT the fragmented communities of Kentucky into communities with a culture of inclusion for individuals engaging in substance use and/ or experiencing chemical dependence.

Experts in disordered substance use have long said that the opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety, it is human connection. It is with this mindset that the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, in partnership with Vital Strategies, is looking to fund projects that further integrate harm reduction programing into our communities.

The Shaping a Healthy and Inclusive Future Together (SHIFT) program will provide 10-15 grants totaling either $10,000 to pilot new programing or $50,000 to support on-going harm reduction and racial equity work. Applicants must be community-based organizations that primarily serve under-resourced communities of color.

Health for a Change: Tackling the Immunization Crisis

When: Wednesday, May 8 @ 11 am ET

The rise of vaccine hesitancy is creating a public health crisis in our communities. In Kentucky and across the country we are now seeing cases of diseases that were once thought to be eliminated. Misinformation and anti-vaccine policies are fostering mistrust, while also making it more difficult to access vaccines in some cases. This webinar will dive into these issues and explore ways advocates and health officials can tackle this crisis.

Hear about important prevention strategies and ways to support them.
