MIDLAND PARK IN SCARBOROUGH HAS BEEN NOMINATED TO BECOME A HERITAGE CONSERVATION DISTRICT.

Exciting news regarding Midland Park

Midland Park is a mid-century modern residential subdivision located in Scarborough (Midland/Ellesmere area). It is recognized by DOCOMOMO Ontario as a modernist residential subdivision - Here. The area is currently nominated to become a Heritage Conservation District (HCD). If the City of Toronto were to make the area an HCD (still pending), it would be the first HCD in Scarborough, and the 2nd modernist HCD in Canada.

The City of Toronto Archives is celebrating a new exhibit, "If These Walls Could Talk – Researching the History of Where You Live", which features a Midland Park house, among 11 other houses located in Toronto. I am sharing the exhibit information (see below) in the hopes that you will join us in getting the word out and include it in your next newsletter.

The exhibit is now open and runs until August 2024.

  • Monday to Friday 9 am - 4 pm
  • Location: City of Toronto Archives, 255 Spadina Road, Toronto.
  • Free entry and free parking on site.

2024 is a big year for ACSA, as we celebrate 50 years of serving the community!

As we mark our 50th anniversary, we are excited to celebrate this milestone with you. Since its inception, ACSA has been a pillar in the Agincourt community bridging the gap between those who can help to those who need a hand up. Always nimble and responsive to meet the needs of community, ACSA remains steadfast in its commitment to work with residents and stakeholders towards a common goal of building communities that represent all people.

Over the past 50 years, ACSA has grown from serving the Agincourt community to now providing support throughout Scarborough, North York and in York Region.

As we reflect on our journey and impact in the community, we are excited to announce a significant change that reflects our growth and evolution over the years. We are proud to unveil our new operating name -- ACSA Community Services. This change preserves our history and the values that have guided us for the past five decades and will bring us forward into the future continuing the legacy of excellence and commitment to those we serve for years to come.

Cheers to 50 years in community ACSA Community Services!

As we enter this new chapter, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone for their ongoing support – to all our supporters, volunteers, donors, partners, stakeholders, program participants and all friends of ACSA –Thank you!

With gratitude,
