With an analog sound system including whistle, puffs, and steam exhaust upon stopping, this sound-equipped Thomas brings to life the sights and sounds of the Island of Sodor. Thomas is the No. 1 blue engine. He is a cheeky little engine who often gets into scrapes, usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. But clouds never last long in Thomas’ world and soon he’s bustling about again, playing his part in the yard and on his very own branch line. Thomas works hard and he always strives to be a “Really Useful Engine.”

JAMES

Item No. 58793

James is the No. 5 red engine. He is a medium-sized engine whose six driving wheels are not as big as Gordon's but not as small as Thomas'. He has a fine scarlet coat and brass dome and thinks of himself as a Really Splendid Engine. Occasionally this leads to misguided ideas about the sort of work suitable for such a distinguished engine, invariably landing James in trouble. James is a mixed-traffic engine, which means he can pull both passenger coaches and freight cars. James is based on a Hughes Class 28 superheated 2-6-0 tender engine.

Rusty is the only diesel engine on the Narrow Gauge Railway. He loves adventure and especially loves his two-toned horn. In the original "Railway Series," Rusty was painted charcoal-black with gold lining. He is based on a Ruston & Hornsby 4wDM narrow gauge engine. Narrow Gauge Thomas & Friends™ products are HO models that run on N scale track.
