2024 Youth Gathering Update

Greetings from your Gathering Synod Champion, Pr. Ally Bowman!

I’m excited to share some updates with you about the 2024 Youth Gathering in New Orleans. During a recent training event, we received updates from each part of the Gathering planning team. Below you’ll find those updates along with links to resources!

Registration & Housing

BIG REGISTRATION INCENTIVE

We’re thrilled to announce that for the next 5 NEW congregations to register for the 2024 Gathering by February 14th will get priority pricing!

Hotel assignments are out!

If you need to add/edit room assignments, email gathering@elca.org.

Log into your account and complete your room assignments today! When checking in, reservations will be under the names of the people in the room.

Clear Bag Policy

For this cycle, the Gathering is instituting

a CLEAR BAG POLICY for everyone

(yes, not even bishops are exempt).

Transportation

Shuttles from the Airport

Louisiana Motor Coach is offering airport shuttles for $25/person each way. You can book online on or before March 1st. Stay tuned for more details!

If you’re looking for a ride to the pre-events, Christ the River of Light Lutheran in Minneapolis has buses going. For details, contact the church @ 612-251-7655 and ask for Deanna Kim.

Programming

Community Life & Hotel Life

Community Life space will be in the Convention Center and will run from July 16th-19th.

Hotel Life includes 3 hotel zones:

1) Hilton Riverside

2) On Canal Street @ Marriot & Sheraton

3) Hyatt Superdome

Zones 1 + 2 opens July 16th from 9:15-10:40pm. Zone 3 will open at 4:00pm.
