Congress Passes FY 2022 Omnibus Appropriations Bill
Congress passed a massive $1.5 trillion FY 2022 omnibus spending bill late last week. The bill included all of the annual FY 2022 appropriations bills, wrapping up the 2022 appropriations cycle which had been extended past the September 30th deadline by means of several continuing resolutions (CRs) that had been keeping the government operating.
The bill also included aid for the current crisis in Ukraine. Among the key highlights, the bill included $348 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), $1.639 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and $1.126 billion for the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
NEMWI will be continuing to analyze the full 2022 appropriations bill.
