Updated Parish Website About to Go Online (see below)
St. James Choir
The official choir season starts on Sunday, September 10, with the choir singing at the 10 AM service. If you’re interested in joining the choir, please come to our first rehearsal (or any later one), which is this Sunday (September 3), after the 10 AM service (and a brief time at coffee hour). Rehearsals are held in the Choir Room, across from the Parish Office on the main floor of the parish center. We welcome new choristers to our ranks; it’s a wonderful way to meet other parishioners and enjoy terrific music. For now, everything happens on Sundays, with rehearsals at 9 a.m. (starting September 10), and after church. Questions, call Katherine Brighty at 860-448-1725.

Newsletter online address is about to change because . . .
The September edition of our Net newsletter can now be read by clicking here or find it on our website at www.stjamesnl.org/newsletter. However, we are in the process of updating our current St. James website because our online management company, ACS, has shifted its website support to a new company, Duda. To see a preview of the new website, you can check it out here. The pages, photos and content has been updated, with information drawn from the current website, the Annual Report and also an integration with the "Parish Report" information that was all at the back of the website previously.
Please take a look at it and let me know if there need to be changes, updates, or a picture of yourself that doesn't do you any favors! The new website will go "live" probably on Tuesday morning. The website address, www.stjamesnl.org, will stay the same, but the link to the Net newsletter will change at that time to www.stjamesnl.org/news-events.

Save the Dates:
Picnic Date Change: Due to a scheduling conflict, the picnic and outdoor worship service has been moved from September 10 to October 1.
For this Homecoming Sunday, we would like to invite the folks we have not seen
at St. James in a while to come back “home” and join us at our annual
picnic. We will be sending out an invitation to anyone whom you can think
of that you haven’t seen at St. James who used to be here. They would come
as our guests, no need to bring food or to pay. It would be our chance to
invite them back into the community at a fun celebration. If you know of
anyone you would like to have included in this invitation, please notify the
office by Sept 15.
Email parishoffice@stjamesnl.org or call 860.443.4989.

St. James has a Prayer Circle—and we invite you to add names (or issues) for which you’d like some additional “prayer help” from your Parish family. The names/issues can be listed in the Daily Office book, found at the Huntington Street entrance of the Church on Sundays, or call Grace Barnum at 860.235.8701 or contact Ellen, Parish Administrator, at 860.443.4989.
If you are in need of pastoral and/or other assistance, please contact Ellen in the parish office. We want to “be there” for you! Health care laws prohibit hospital and/or rehabilitation centers from sharing information about admissions. If you are aware of another who would appreciate a visit, please call the parish office.
