Hello Wayne State University School of Medicine Faculty and Residents:
As 295 students are hitting the floors for the first time this morning and starting their clerkships, we are happy to provide you with this updated Resident/Faculty Teaching Guide.
This document briefly outlines:
- The educational program at WSUSOM
- The goals and objectives of the core clerkships and for each clerkship
- The required cases and activities
- Policies and procedures commonly referenced during clinical clerkships
- Brief guide to evaluation of the students
- Opportunities for residents and faculty to develop teaching and evaluation skills.
The introductory paragraphs at the beginning are hyperlinked to information in the reference section and links to the WSUSOM web pages.
A copy of this will always be available on our Clerkship Objectives web page.
We greatly appreciate your efforts to teach our students and hopefully this guide will be valuable and answer the common question, “What are they doing at the Medical School?"
