Tesla Electric Vehicle Charging Station Coming to Ocean Shores

The latest state-of-the art Tesla electric vehicle charging station is coming to the Ocean Shores Convention Center this summer. The Tesla Supercharger is the fastest charging option when electric vehicle drivers are away from home. The Ocean Shores charging station will allow drivers to charge their car up to 200 miles in 15 minutes. The new stations are designed to get your car charged and back on the road as quickly as possible. A ribbon cutting even will be held later this summer to inaugurate the station.

Dogs Days of Summer!

After years of anticipation, get ready for the new dog park at Chinook Park! The official Ocean Shores dog park will be an approximately 7,800 square foot large dog park and 5,000 square foot small dog park. There will be three benches in each park, along with leash holders and waste stations. A water fountain that pups can enjoy is going to be installed outside the dog park.

Additional items to be added to Chinook Park this fall include restrooms and additional walking paths connecting the parking lot to the restrooms, water fountain and dog parks. There will also be a playground for the kids to enjoy which should be open by next spring along with additional walking paths to connect the playground.

Please note: the dog parks will be closed on Wednesdays for maintenance. The City is expecting to have the dog parks open by late August.

Ocean Shores Fresh Waterways Update!

The Duck Lake canal system will be treated with aquatic herbicides between August 8 through August 11 to control weed growth; weather permitting/treatment updates will be posted on Facebook. No chemical applications will be applied during the weekend or holiday of any given week that would require swimming or fishing restrictions. The entire canal system is targeted for parrotfeather control. Submersed weed control will occur throughout all the canals except for Lake Minard and the canal exiting Lake Minard to the Marine View Boat ramp.

Oyhut Bay Seaside Village

First opened in 2017, Oyhut Bay Seaside Village sits on the beautiful 683-acre Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area at the south end of Ocean Shores. After experiencing tremendous growth over the past six years, Oyhut Bay now boasts dozens of homes available to purchase and rent, with expansion continuing every year. Each home is tastefully decorated with inspiration from the Pacific Northwest while many offer hot tubs, waterfront views of the canal, game rooms, and are pet friendly.

While the homes in Oyhut Bay are a fantastic place to both live and vacation, the growing community center is also a great place for Grays Harbor locals and tourists to visit for the day. Current businesses on site now include: Oyhut Bay Grill, Corks & Taps, Oyhut Bay Market & Bakery, and Too Cool Sportswear. On-site, visitors can also rent bikes, play bocce ball, horseshoe, volleyball, or giant chess, visit the playground, or watch an outdoor concert in the amphitheater. No matter the time of year, events of all kinds are on the calendar including Easter egg hunts and Bunny visits, parades, Halloween trick-or-treating, paint and sip events, and New Year's Eve celebrations.

Speaking of events, Oyhut Bay has recently announced the ground breaking for a brand new event center! This venue is designed to cater to a wide range of events and will have a maximum capacity of up to 250 guests. The event center will feature a full catering kitchen, state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, high-speed internet, and ample parking for guests with its location in the heart of the town center. Stay tuned for the grand opening - estimated for the summer of 2024!

We love watching Oyhut Bay grow and can't wait to see what the future has in store!
