CMS Transportation is committed to providing the best possible service to our students and families. As we continue planning Express Stop sites across the district, we also want to inform you about Consolidated Stops.
What is a Consolidated Stop?
A Consolidated Stop is a location where a minimum of seven families express interest in creating a new bus stop at a non-CMS site. Signing up for and using one of these bus stop locations is strictly voluntary for CMS students. Examples of Consolidated Stops include:
Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen
Crown Point Cinemas
Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church
Providence Baptist Church
Greenheather Drive at Clubhouse
Park & Ride: Carmel and Quail Hollow
Park Crossing Drive and Penshurst Trace
How do I sign up for a Consolidated Site?
- Families sign-up to show interest in a Consolidated Stop.
- Transportation staff will assess the information and determines a central location of interest.
- Once interest in a Consolidated Stop is determined, Transportation will send a list of nearby students to school administrators to see if additional families are interested. A ConnectEd message will be sent to identified families with more information.
Importation Information
- Consolidated Stops are not on CMS property.
- Campus Security Associates are not on site.
- Consolidated Stops are not guaranteed. CMS Transportation always reserves the right to refuse a Consolidated Stop.
- It’s possible to have an Express Stop in the morning and a Consolidate Stop in the afternoon (and vice-versa).
- If ridership decreases at a particular Consolidated Stop, service may be reduced or relocated to a neighboring Consolidated Stop.
- Parents are responsible for dropping off and picking up students from a Consolidated Stop.
