The first annual Zydeco Music Festival is an outdoor event
happening in Temecula on Sunday, September 19, 2010 from noon to
nine pm. This special event benefits local non-profits and
coincides with the grand opening of Simply Sharon's Restaurant, a
new restaurant featuring home-style American Comfort and
Creole/Cajun Cuisine.
The festival is a family-friendly event with pre-sale tickets
only costing $10 for adults with up to 4 kids FREE with purchase by
calling (951) 308-0016. The band line-up features an eclectic mix
of Gospel, Zydeco and Jazz music performed by some of the best area
musicians. A big dance floor will host free dance lessons for the
first 1/2 hour with dancing continuing into the evening.
Gospel
* Zydeco * Jazz
This event is a celebration of Louisiana food, music and culture.
After initially planning on featuring Zydeco music alone, the
musical direction of the festival was broadened to include other
"Louisiana" music such as Jazz and Gospel. Over the last few
months, Simply Sharon's has developed into an exciting music venue
with delicious home-style cooking. Local musicians as well as jazz
stars frequent the restaurant as both patrons and performers.
The Zydeco Music Festival brings tremendous entertainment value
to the community while benefiting local non-profits like The Oak
Grove Center, Jacobs House and Arc Mid-Cities. At a time when the
economy forces many people to curtail family outings, this low-cost
event allows families to enjoy a day of live music for
significantly less money than a trip to the movies.
