Because of the generosity of our community and Bill Reckert, Store Manager at Jewel, we we over 100 dinners for local families this holiday season. Thank you to all who donated at the register! Thank you to everyone who adopted a family or senior and also to those who donated food, items or a financial contribution to the township food pantry. Your support makes sure our residents are remembered. This program only works because of your concern for others.
The Fremont Township Office Will Be Closed
Fremont Township will be closed on December 24th and 25th.

Social Security Scam- Don't Give Your Information
BEWARE! Calls are being made by people who claim to be from a Social Security employee who states their name and ID. They say that your SS number has been tagged with drug trafficking and they need to verify your social security number so they can give you all information attached to your number. They tell you if you do not give them information your SS will be suspended. BEWARE of this scam and make sure you tell your loved ones not to fall for this.They are very convincing!
Midwest Veteran's Closet Seeking Donations
During this season of giving and thinking of others, the Midwest Veterans Closet—a local organization committed to assisting veterans—is in need of towels, underwear, socks, and new or gently used work boots. These items can be dropped off anytime at the Mundelein Village Hall or at the Midwest Veterans Closet site, 2323 Green Bay Road in North Chicago. More Information
Holiday Lights Recycling Program

Mundelein Public Works and Engineering is hosting the annual holiday lights recycling program. Anyone interested in recycling their used holiday lights can bring their items to one of the following locations between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday from now through January 31, 2019.  More information.
Recycle Your Christmas Tree at The Forest Preserve


Don’t send your Christmas tree to the landfill, drop it off at the Forest Preserve for recycling. Donated trees are chipped and used for trails and landscaping at forest preserves throughout Lake County. Bring your tree to a drop-off site at one of the following forest preserves, open daily from 6:30 am to sunset: Click her for locations.

Park District To Host Job Fair
Mundelein Park & Recreation District is hosting a FREE Summer Job Fair on January 4, 2019 at the Community Center (1401 N. Midlothian Road) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for open part-time and seasonal positions throughout the district. Open positions include: lifeguards, swim instructors, cashiers, concessions, maintenance, camp counselors, and laborers. More Information
Engineering Internship Opportunities
Over 30 top engineering firms will be under one roof to connect with students in various engineering fields at the third annual Lake County Engineering Internship and Job Fair. The event will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 4 at the College of Lake County. More Info
All About Storm Chasing
Illinois Storm Chasers co-founder Adam Lucio will be at Fremont Library to talk all things severe weather. An active chaser since 2004, Adam has witnessed more than 120 tornadoes in his life and has been featured on “Storm Hunters” and other media outlets. Adam is self taught with regard to the weather and is one of the better forecasters and storm chasers around today. Make an Impact on Lake County Homelessness
Volunteer for the annual Homeless Point-in-Time (PIT) Homeless Count on Jan. 30, 2019. Each year, the Lake County Coalition for the Homeless holds the Point-in-Time Homeless Count where volunteers search across Lake County to interview and offer assistance to unsheltered people experiencing homelessness. The data gathered helps coordinate services for people experiencing homelessness and allows organizations to track progress toward the goal of ending homelessness. Apply to volunteer.
