GIVING BACK

New-Indy Hosts Employee Appreciation Lunch

On May 23 & 24, New-Indy hosted an employee appreciation lunch. The event is the mill’s annual opportunity to thank employees for their service. The lunch gave everyone a chance to refocus after a busy first quarter of 2024. Outback Steakhouse cooked and the management team helped serve employees. All 400-plus mill employees participated during the mill’s four shifts.

TASTE OF NEW-INDY

New-Indy’s Catawba Grill is the go-to lunch spot for mill employees and contractors.

Monitor Report

Hydrogen Sulfide Monitors Continue to Show Low Readings

Hydrogen sulfide readings at New-Indy Catawba and in the surrounding community have been zero or negligible for more than two years.

The 24-hour averages for hydrogen sulfide recorded in parts per billion (ppb) in May were minimal – more than 40 times below the 14-day exposure limit (70 ppb) set by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry.

New-Indy Catawba has been monitoring hydrogen sulfide at the mill and in the community since May 2021. Daily reports are generated by monitors and are posted on www.newindycatawba.com

NEW-INDY NUGGET

A significant storm hit York County in April, causing significant damage to homes. New-Indy community partner HOPE of Rock Hill quickly set up a relief fund to assist affected families. New-Indy’s contributions committee made a monetary donation to HOPE of Rock Hill to help those who needed help because of the damage. You can donate to HOPE and identify the contribution as Storm Relief. Your gift will go into a separate fund at Hope used solely for this purpose.
