March 2024

Welcome Spring

Try something new today!

March marks a big change: winter ends and spring begins.

Last month, we told you that New Horizons is also changing. Our calendar mailing has a new look and we continue to add new and interesting programs, adding to the list of long-running and exciting activities we already host.

Now is a good time to stop by the Center — your center — or log on, and try something new (to you).

Exercise your mind and your body. Have fun. Connect with old friends. Make new friends. Learn something new. Have meaningful discussions. New Horizons is here to facilitate all of that and more.

Here is a thoughtful quote from Harvard evolutionary biologist Daniel Lieberman: “We evolved to be physically active as we age, and in turn being active helps us age well. Further, the longer we stay active, the greater the benefit, and it is almost never too late to benefit from getting fit.” (Exercised: Why Something We Never Evolved to Do Is Healthy and Rewarding. Pantheon Books, 2020. p 251.)

Let New Horizons help you get fit and maintain your fitness, whether it’s your mind, body or both. And help us change to serve you better — let us know what we can do for you! We are here for you!!

After 14 years of dedicated service as Executive Director, we welcome Elissa Berardi to her new role as Executive Advisor!
