Way to Go!
Each month at our (virtual) assembly, there is a Way to Go! draw. To be entered, students have to be “caught” going above and beyond for others.
Some examples of this might be: helping out another student to solve a problem, holding the door for others on the way outside, or letting someone else have a turn on a favorite game.
Teachers fill out a ticket for the students to drop off in the jar in the office, and each month, Mr Williams and Mrs Brocanier pull a ticket from the jar during the assembly. At the end of the year, all the tickets are put back in the jar for a final mega-draw at the end of June.
The winner of the Way to Go! Draw in November was Tiernan from Mount Rundle.
Christine, Heather and Nicola
Christine Walker, from our OT team, has headed off on maternity leave.
We will miss her, but are excited for her to welcome a new little one to her family.
Heather Allison, also from our current OT team, will be expanding her time at New Heights to take on part of the maternity leave, and has been working with Christine throughout this year to provide a solid transition.
Nicola Josephs will also be taking on part of Christine’s maternity leave, and will be joining us on our OT team in January after Winter Break.

Welcome Nicola!

Indoor Dismissal
Though we’ve been enjoying this exceptional Fall weather, we do know that Winter is coming and the cold and snow will arrive someday soon.

When the temperatures drop, there are times when we will have an indoor dismissal instead of waiting outside on the parade square at pick up. On these days, we continue to have staff who will communicate with Access Calgary drivers and run the usual routine with the students waiting inside. There will also be staff available outside the front doors of the school to communicate with parents and notify the classrooms when parents have arrived to pick up their student.

Most days we will continue to be outside for recesses and pick up. Please be sure that your student comes dressed appropriately for Calgary Winter weather.
