Dear Care Management and CurrentCare Viewer Clients,
With the recent amendment to the RI Mental Health Law, data related to inpatient psychiatric encounters at Lifespan’s hospitals including Rhode Island Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital, and Bradley Hospital, are now being sent to RIQI, and near real-time updates are included within CurrentCare Viewer and Care Management Alerts & Dashboards.
Similar to other inpatient encounters, the following data sets are now sent for inpatient psychiatric encounters:
- ADTs - Admission, Discharge and Transfers - encounter notifications including 'Reason for Visit'
- CCDs - Longitudinal summary of record (problems, allergies, medications, immunizations, etc.)
- Discharge CoCs - Encounter-based summaries of Emergency & Inpatient visits, available in near-real-time
This change is intended to improve awareness and care coordination with community provider organizations during the critical initial time period of transitions of care events.
