About this position:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Admissions & College Registrar, the Slate Systems Analyst is responsible for administering all aspects of the School of Continuing Education’s future admissions application system Slate, by Technolutions. This includes implementation and oversight of the validity and functionality of the admissions system, ensuring integrity and validity of related data, providing ongoing training and support to users, resolving system performance concerns, managing all aspects of system changes and upgrades, serving as the point of contact for internal and external customer concerns and questions, partnering with SCE IT and Cornell IT to maintain the system and ensure compliance with related regulations, staying current with emerging developments in Slate and other admissions systems, leading projects related to the SCE admissions system, and preparing queries, data analysis, and reports as needed.

What you will do:

  • Develop queries and reports in Slate to support the various business functions of SCE ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the SCE IT team to ensure that all SCE systems are communicating as necessary and to seek increased efficiency.
  • Participate on appropriate SCE and university committees to represent and advocate for the needs of the School of Continuing Education and its constituents.
  • Among other responsibilities.

This position is located at the Main Campus in Ithaca, New York with hybrid work arrangement.

Senior Desktop Support Specialist

Student Service Information Technologies

About this position:

Student Service Information Technologies (SSIT) provides IT support to a number of divisions, including SCL, and allows numerous operations to continue to run effectively while using hundreds of different IT systems. SSIT is comprised of five different service teams:  Client/Desktop Services, Infrastructure Services, Business Applications & Development, IT Service Management, and Business Application Services.
As part of Student Services Information Technology (SSIT), Sr. Desktop Support Specialist will provide advanced technical consulting, incident management, and fulfill support service request for a desktop computing environment of approximately 1,200 end users and over 1,500 network devices that span over 60 buildings on campus as well as remote offices

What you will do:

  • Respond to and troubleshoot a broad range of support services including desktop applications, network and desktop infrastructure, mobile device support as well as low to complex user questions regarding PC and Apple peripherals.
  • Provide support either through in-person consultations or through consultations done remotely over phone or email in an effort to resolve in a timely and accurate fashion that minimizes downtime and impact on the user.
  • Research technical issues and creates entries into a knowledge-based system as well as looks to implement special technology projects as assigned.
  • Among other responsibilities.
