The Women and Girls Fund announces new Board of Directors members | |
The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County (WGF) has elected five new members to its Board of Directors. They are: | |
Lesli Boese
Lesli Boese of Waukesha, Deputy District Attorney with the Waukesha County's District Attorney's Office. In this role, she serves as the director of the Drug Enforcement Unit, supervises seven attorneys, and works in all stages to prosecute felony, misdemeanor and traffic offences – and served as lead counsel on more than 150 jury trials. Lesli is a current member of the Waukesha County Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association and the Wisconsin Narcotics Officer's Association. As a new board of director member, Lesli hopes to bring a new perspective to the organization, especially regarding women and girls who have been victims of crime.

Julia Jaegersberg
Julia Jaegersberg of Sussex, freelance writer. Currently, Julia writes three monthly magazines featuring community members, businesses and nonprofits, and she works on alumni communications for the Marquette University School of Dentistry. In her fourth year as the president of the Pewaukee Area Arts Council, she also works to promote community arts. Previously, Julia worked in advertising as a copywriter for local agencies, and marketing and internal communications for ProHealth Care. She’s served on the planning committee for Women of Distinction for three years – and she’s excited to continue as a new member of the board of directors in supporting marketing efforts.

Amy Kiiskila
Amy Kiiskila of Wauwatosa, Wealth Strategist and Estate Planning Attorney with Annex Wealth Management. In this role, she works as a trusted partner to clients and financial advisors for investment, financial, tax, estate and business planning – using her deep knowledge of legal and financial tools. Amy is also affiliated with the Catholic Community Foundation where she serves many roles and she’s a general member of the Milwaukee Estate Planning Forum. With a passion for supporting women and children, Amy looks forward to deepening her relationships and commitment to the Waukesha community as a new member of the board of directors.

Karen Long
Karen Long of Pewaukee, Associate Vice President of Grumman|Butkus Associates. In this position, she’s a licensed professional engineer responsible for designing building electrical systems including plans and specifications. In addition, Karen serves as a member of TEMPO Milwaukee, volunteers for Junior Achievement, Friends of Pewaukee Public Library, Pack 13 Cub Scouts, Pewaukee High School Insight Mentor – and serves as a chairperson at the MSOE CAECM Industry Advisory Committee. Karen began her work with the Women and Girls Fund as a member of the Fund Development Committee. She believes in paying it forward – so she’s excited to help raise women up as a new member of the board of directors.

Lauren Ruff
Lauren Ruff of Waukesha, Vice President – Marketing Director of Ixonia Bank. In this role, she supports all areas of the bank (Commercial, Retail & Wealth Management) with brand management, strategic planning, event planning, public relations, print and digital media, and more. Lauren also serves as a member of the Oconomowoc Chamber of Commerce's Marketing Committee. And, previously she completed two terms on the marketing committee for the Wisconsin Bankers Association. Lauren began sharing her marketing knowledge with the Women & Girls Fund as a member of the Marketing Committee. Now, as a new board member, Lauren’s excited to support women and girls even more – and will work to increase awareness.

The Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County was established in 2004 to improve the quality of life for women and girls in Waukesha County. Since 2005, the Women and Girls Fund has awarded more than $1.6 million to nonprofit organizations that promote the health and well-being, self-sufficiency, and empowerment of women and girls of all ages. | | | | |
