Please join us this upcoming Friday, July 21st, between 5:30-7:30pm, as we celebrate Belgian Independence Day with a sampling of Belgian beers, from Trappist ales to Lambic. $5 gets you your own Trappist ale glass for tasting and to take home! Chef Jessie Burnett will also be here serving up appetizers to enjoy alongside.
Additionally, we will have two special guests: Flor de Caña Rum and Desert Door Sotol (i.e. the "Tequila of Texas"), so you can come sample a lineup of aged rums as well as a selection of Sotol.

Juan Gil Blanco 2022
Jumilla, Spain
| The color is light gold with a green tinge. Fresh melon, peach and kiwi aromas are complemented by jasmine and white pepper. Juicy, tightly wound pit fruit and honeydew flavors on the mouth, the wine delivers a lot of juicy, refreshing fruit and comes off almost weightless on the long, intensely spicy finish. | | |

|
Pala Soprasole Vermentino 2022
Sardinia, Italy
| |
Notes of lime and balsamic on the nose. Good depth and balance with a long, satisfying finish.
91 Points, James Suckling - "A white with sliced lemon and pear with some peach and stone. Medium-bodied with fresh fruit and a green-melon and citrus aftertaste. Delicious and crisp. Drink now."

Tait 'The Ball Buster' 2019
Barossa Valley, Australia
| |
Tait's 2019 Ball Buster is a deep black purple color. Intense aromas of black currant, stewed plums, cherry, and chocolate. A full-bodied berry palate with a sweet long lasting finish.
Blend: 77% Shiraz, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot
91 Points, Josh Raynolds - "Opaque ruby. Smoke- accented aromas of ripe dark berries, pungent flowers and vanilla, along with a hint of white pepper that adds spicy lift. Concentrated, expansive cherry liqueur, blackberry and fruitcake flavors become more energetic as the wine opens up. Round, well-knit tannins frame the appealingly sweet finish, which hangs on with impressive, dark fruit-dominated persistence."

Vatan Tinta de Toro 2019
Toro, Spain
| |
This wine is a remarkable combination of old vine (vineyard planted in 1900), ungrafted, gobelet trained, 100% Tinta de Toro (a unique phenotype of Tempranillo). Toro is a unique region in a country that has many unique regions. Located downriver from Ribera del Duero and upriver from Porto, its sandy soils, high elevation, hot days and cool nights, a very long growing season, and dry and windy continental climate make for concentrated and expressive wines.
92 Points, James Suckling - "Attractive aromas of blueberries and blackberries with hints of licorice, vanilla, cardamom and herbs. Juicy and crunchy on the palate with firm tannins and a creamy mouth-feel. Seamless and even with a flavorful finish. Drink or hold."
92 Points, Wilfred Wong - "The 2019 Vatan Tinta de Toro is a firm and well-built red wine. This wine excels with aromas and flavors of savory spices, sandalwood, licorice, and black fruits. Enjoy it with grilled short ribs."

Didier Grappe CLASH
Jura, France
| The "Clash" is a natural sparkling wine with indigenous yeasts for the first alcoholic fermentation. A clean, ripe bouquet with dominant aromas of apple and pear, and secondary fruit blossoms notes. Crisp and bone-try on the palate, with more orchard fruit alongside crushed stone and a bright, lemony acidity. | | |

Ovum Rare Form 'Day Moon'
Dundee Hills, Oregon
| Day Moon is inspired by aged Blanc de Blanc Champagne. Striking straw gold color with a modest, fine mousse. An inviting nose of fresh brioche with a small pad of salted butter and lemon confit. Dried wildflower, straw and ginger follow. Pure energy races as the palate unfolds elegant layers of dried flowers and minerals. The restrained mousse is in harmony with the noticeably long, nutty finish. Native fermentation is completed in amphora, where it is then racked to age in neutral French oak for 1-2 years. | | |

Louis Jadot Rosé 2021
Burgundy, France
| |
A lively rosé from a crafted selection of 100% Gamay from the great Burgundy region.
Floral and fruity, fresh red currant and raspberry fruit character. Zingy peach, melon and red tea combine on the nose and palate. White pear melds with a thread of white pepper towards the elegantly dry finish.

Chaucer's Mead
California
| |
Chaucer's Mead uses 100% pure honey from hives throughout Northern California and is composed of a blend of three types; orange, alfalfa and sage. Each of these components brings a unique quality to the blend and contributes to the overall complexity of the wine. Orange adds a pungent orange blossom flavor and has light color. Alfalfa is neutral in flavor but yields a dark, amber color. Sage, on the other hand, has a mild taste and a light color.
Chaucer's Mead is produced utilizing fresh honey without the addition of artificial flavorings, concentrates or artificial colorings. This wine exhibits a richness similar to a fine liqueur, this dessert-style beverage is not fortified and contains only 11% alcohol. The Mead can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, either chilled, straight or heated with spices to create a delicious wintery drink, we also recommend trying it chilled with spices.
