FDOT Meets to Discuss Lighting Improvements to Griffin Road
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public meeting on Monday, February 5, 2024, to discuss the lighting improvements to Griffin Road from Anglers Avenue to SR 7.

Home Rehabilitation Assistance Program Application
Applications are now being accepted for Owner Occupied Rehabilitation programs through Broward County Housing Finance Division (BCHFD). These services include hurricane hardening-reroof or roof repair, installation of impact windows and exterior doors, minor home repair such as air conditioning system replacement and electric panel replacement, water-sewer connection, and special needs/barrier free rehab, for income eligible homeowners.

Junior Flea Market
The Junior Flea Market targets youth up to the age of 17 to sell all kid related items such as clothes, toys, shoes, games, crafts, etc. Cost is $10 per vendor space and payment must be made in person at the park. Sale is from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on February 24 at Frost Park.

Free Mobile Cancer Screenings By UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center are a Gamechanger
Come out to City Hall on Tuesday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the first of a series of free cancer screenings. The University of Miami’s Sylvester Office of Outreach and Engagement has implemented a new way to offer free cancer screening partially addressing cervical, colorectal, and prostate cancer via a mobile clinic named the Gamechanger vehicle.
The service returns to Dania Beach City Hall every first Tuesday of every two months.

Annual Spring Egg Hunt
Hop on over to our annual Spring Egg Hunt for some egg-citing family fun for kids ages infant to 10 years old. The eggstravaganza is Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frost Park and it's free. There will also be bounce houses, face painting and photo opportunities with our bunny.

Road Work Up Ahead
The County began the construction for the State Rd 84 and Federal Highway US-1 Intersection Improvement project. Work is expected be completed by May 2024, barring unforeseen conditions or weather delays. The project is part of the County's Mobility Advancement Program (MAP).

Community Came Out to Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dania Beach rolled out the red carpet for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The community celebrated his legacy with a parade, basketball tournament, festival, and more. Thank you to everyone who participated and cheered along the streets.

Congratulations to the MLK Scholars and Service Awardees
In the spirit of this year's Martin Luther King Jr.'s theme of hope, courage and unity, individuals that are committed to making a positive impact on our community were honored at the annual Dania Beach MLK Unity Gala.
The following outstanding individuals received a $1,000 scholarship. These recipients, all proud residents of the City of Dania Beach, have not only demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA but have also actively participated in enriching community activities.

Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show Rolled in a Big Crowd
Motors were running hot at the Annual Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show at Frost Park last Saturday. There were over 300 antique bikes, live music, vendors, field games, and more -- all for a good time.

Mad Arts Dania Beach Shined at IGNITE Art & Light Festival
Visitors at Ignite Dania Beach at Mad Arts experienced immersive light and sound-based art created by top national and international artists and designers from all over the world. Twenty-two exhibits are displayed in the gallery and exterior spaces at Mad Arts in Dania Beach (481 S. Federal Highway).
IGNITE Broward was presented by Broward County Cultural Division in partnership with MAD Arts. The City of Dania Beach was a proud sponsor.

Addressing Legislative Priorities in Tallahassee
Advocacy and relationships are key in securing state funding for major projects that will improve the quality of life for our Dania Beach community. Last month, Mayor Ryan, Commissioner Davis and City Manager Garcia descended on our state’s capital to seek funds for citywide projects such as storm drainage and parks.

City officials attended the grand opening event for Avery Dania Pointe East Apartments hosted by Meyers Accesso. Avery Dania Pointe East is the second residential project at Dania Pointe, a premier 102-acre live-work-play destination in South Florida.
