2025 Learning Groups and Coaching Programs

"A Rite of Passage"

Over the years, participating in a Fieldstone Learning Group and/or Coaching Program has become a rite of passage for nonprofit leaders. Each year, these programs sell out quickly. If you haven't yet participated or know someone on your staff who would benefit, now is the time to apply. Applications are available now!

Both programs starting in January 2025.

Join the tradition and discover why this experience is such a special milestone

in a nonprofit leader's career.

"Fieldstone was an incredible experience!

It’s rare to have the opportunity to communicate, learn from, and exchange ideas with other leaders in the non-profit sector.

Engaging in thoughtful conversations and problem solving sessions,

I gained insights into the intricacies of non-profits and learned how to effectively grow as a leader. I’m eager to apply this knowledge not only in my work but also in my personal life."

"My coach is generous with her time and is very present when we get together. She is a good sounding board and is helping me to build my confidence in myself, in my decisions and in my strategies."

2024 Coachee

I love the coaching program. It is the best decision I’ve ever made (to be part of the program). It is the support system that I have always needed. Great matching – it is magic. I feel like you knew who I was and who I needed. I can’t describe how great my coach is – Phenomenal! I was always searching for someone to have my back and she does. I am grateful.

Leadership Reading Group 9 began on September 5th, welcoming a full cohort of nonprofit leaders from across the county. This diverse group, representing various sub-sectors, promises to bring a wide range of perspectives to our book discussions. During our "Prologue" meeting, participants were introduced to the program and each other through engaging activities, and the first three books of the series were unveiled.

Facilitated by Stefanie Schiff, the program focuses on exploring leadership through literature, utilizing a curated book list developed with input from The Nonprofit Institute, Warwicks, Words Alive Founder Leslye Lyons, and past participants. Now in its ninth year, the program continues to inspire and educate nonprofit leaders.

LAUNCH - For Early Career Executive Directors

We're thrilled to announce that LAUNCH is taking off with a full cohort of early-career Executive Directors! The program was so popular, it required us to add additional spots to accommodate everyone who was interested in learning with us! 🚀 The program begins later this month on September 25th.

This program is all about equipping these leaders with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to excel in their roles and create meaningful change within their organizations and communities.

Our thanks to the facilitators who have been working diligently to craft this new curriculum which weaves together best practices and theories with the hard-earned wisdom of experience. In addition to transferring knowledge to our newest executives, we aim to create a learning environment that fosters deep relationship building among the cohort and between new and seasoned leaders.

Quarterly Fieldstone Coaches Meeting

This month we had the privilege of meeting with our incredible team of coaches—a stellar group of nonprofit leaders committed to sharing their wisdom and experience with others. As we enter into the last quarter of our 2024 program, our focus was on finishing strong and making sure our coachees are addressing the topics most important to them at this time. Each of our coachees has four months left in this individually-focused program.

We’re deeply grateful to all of our Fieldstone Coaches for their generous service and dedication to investing in others through our Coaching Program. If you’re interested in working with a Fieldstone Coach in 2025, applications are open now through October 1st! See the link above for more information.

CALIFORNIA TALENT JUSTICE INITIATIVE

The Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego has joined Fund the People as a partner for the launch of the California Talent Justice Initiative. This groundbreaking initiative aims to ignite investment in California’s nonprofit workforce. Together with Fund the People, we will foster dialogue between nonprofits, funders, and intermediaries, helping to reframe the crisis facing the nonprofit workforce and identify solutions.

In September, we’ll be part of the San Diego/Imperial County regional convening exploring talent justice across California on September 25. Other convenings will be held in Northern California and LA/Orange County as well. To cap off these three efforts, a statewide California Talent Justice Summit will take place from December 9-11, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss talent-investing and intersectional equity. All events will be by invitation to ensure meaningful, focused conversations.

The chronic lack of investment in nonprofit talent has led to a workforce crisis. However, robust investment can strengthen equity, effectiveness, and sustainability within the sector—an approach Fund the People calls "talent-investing." To ensure this investment promotes inclusion across all levels of the workforce, it must incorporate intersectional equity, or what they refer to as "talent justice."

Learn more about this initiative here and explore their Talent Justice research, created with the Center for Urban and Racial Equity, at talentjustice.org.

It is a privilege to work with this esteemed group of leaders and organizations on this important effort that is in alignment with our purpose of supporting nonprofit professionals. Stay tuned for updates on our progress and reach out if you would like to join us.
