Metering Pumps Options and Upgrades

Neptune offers a variety of options to upgrade your hydraulic and mechanical metering pumps to further enhance reliability and efficiency. Whether you wish to control flow rates, monitor diaphragm leak detection, or require ventilation of gas accumulation, Neptune has additional options and features to meet your needs.
Electronic Stroke Controller
The Neptune Electric Stroke Control allows the capacity of any Neptune Series 500, Series 600 or Series 6000 “dia-PUMP” to be automatically controlled in response to a standard 4-20 mADC process signal. Alternate inputs are 0-5 VDC/0-10 VDC signal or incremental contact closures. One-piece controller-positioner mounts directly to the pump. No machining or any special drillings or tappings needed to retrofit pump. Ideal for water/wastewater, power and process industry applications… anywhere that pump flow must be automatically proportioned or varied.

Double-Diaphragm Leak Detection
Neptune offers a double-diaphragm leak detection option for applications where contamination of the process fluid by the pump hydraulic fluid cannot be tolerated or where diaphragm failure must be sensed immediately.

The Neptune double diaphragm design uses two “dry” coupled diaphragms. The area between the diaphragms is sealed. Hydraulic pumping action is transmitted from one diaphragm to the other without the use of any intermediate fluids.

The diaphragm condition is monitored by a pressure switch which can be wired to shut off the pump and/or sound a remote alarm. This design eliminates conductivity probes which could fail to detect the presence of oil or low conductivity liquids in the event of a diaphragm failure.

Variable Speed Control
The flow rate of any Neptune hydraulic diaphragm pump can be controlled automatically by a process instrument using a variable speed drive to change pump stroke speed. Optional motor flange adapter allows convenient mounting of any AC or DC variable speed motor control package.

Neptune offers an optional head that is designed with an automatic air-release valve that allows the venting of accumulated gas produced by chemicals that release process gas, such as sodium hypochlorite.
