Negotiations Summary:
  • Compensation Package (Effective July 1, 2020) is as follows:
  • 3.04% COLA;
  • NO Steps;
  • For the first time in several years, salary increase will take place July 1 thus no need for back pay or retro pay.

  • Other Changes
  • Modified JPAL (Article 11.8) language. To view, click here. New language guarantees that at the end of JPAL, you can continue to use any remaining leave that you have available.
  • Modified FMLA (Article 11.7) language. To view, click here. New language guarantees that at the end of FMLA, you can continue to use any remaining leave that you have available.
  • Modified Bereavement Leave (Article 11.1). To view, click here. New language allows more flexibility in regards to usage of days.
  • Modified Annual Leave (Article 10.3). To view, click here. No more "use or lose". Any Annual Leave days in excess of your max carryover (see chart in Article 10.3), will convert to Sick Leave.

  • Issues that were withdrawn:
  • Teacher Assistant work hours (withdrawn by SAAAAC); It was mutually agreed by both parties that this item would be a common topic in the FY22 negotiations that would commence this Fall. To view, click here.
  • Increase Health Insurance Surcharges (withdrawn by BOE);

  • Four Day Work Week (not subject to the ratification vote)
  • Will run from June 24 to August 25, 2020.
  • No changes were made regarding process, procedure or practice.
