We are excited to announce that The Rev. Canon Ashely Freeman, Canon to the Ordinary, will lead us in worship this Sunday during the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. Please join us as we welcome Ashley to Nativity!

 

In 2022, Rev. Cannon Freeman joined the diocesan staff as Canon to the Ordinary and Missioner for Discernment.


Noonday Prayer on Wednesday

Until further notice, we will hold Noonday Prayer on Wednesdays.

A Special Invitation from St. Mark's, Troy DOK- Thursday

Dear members of Nativity, We invite you to join us for an observance of the National Day of Prayer on May 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The event will include Evening Prayer and light refreshments and is sponsored by the Troy Chapter of the Daughters of the King at St. Mark's in Troy, Alabama. St. Mark's is located at 401 W College St, Troy, AL 36081. Daughters of the King Outreach Drive

The Nativity DOK is currently collecting hygiene items for the Dothan Rescue Mission. They have placed a box in the Narthex for people to drop off items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, and other similar items throughout the summer. They encourage people to collect these items during their work or vacation travels. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Summer Snider, Chapter President at 479-644-8238.

Sacred Conversations- Walk-ins Welcome


Join us at Nativity on Saturday, May 4th, from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm, for a workshop that will provide valuable insights into the causes and effects of racism. We'll explore topics like bias, prejudice, privilege, and ways to work together to Become the Beloved Community. There is no fee to participate in this workshop.

Party for Lisa & Josh

You are invited to celebrate Josh and Lisa who have been serving as youth leaders. They will be stepping down next month. The event will be held on Tuesday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Thirsty Pig. The Thirsty Pig is a family-friendly place, and all are welcome to attend. If you would like to contribute to their gift, please contact Shea Turner at 334-797-2984. We hope to see you there!

Let's Taco 'Bout Jesus!

Hola EYC! Who's ready to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us this Sunday at the Youth House? Join us for a fiesta filled with fun, food, and fellowship, followed by a special Bible Study session. It's going to be a blast! See you there from 5-7 PM!  

Music Notes

Sunday, May 5, the Nativity Handbells will play two pieces for Prelude. The handbells have done a wonderful job this year. Come and hum along to a favorite song.


Sunday, May 12, the Nativity Children's Choir will sing. Come hear a couple of old favorites and a new tune as well. 


Summer Camp at Beckwith!

Registration for Summer 2024 is now open for the dates listed above. Camp Beckwith's mission is to provide a safe summer camp experience where children and youth can grow closer to God, make new friends, challenge themselves, and strengthen their self-confidence. During the camp, children and youth will have the opportunity to engage in various activities such as sailing, paddleboarding, ziplining, rock climbing, arts and crafts, field games, and worship. Eagle Scout Project Nativity Playground

Last week, Colton, a future Eagle Scout, led area scouts in fixing up the playground at Nativity. One-third of the project has already been completed, with the rest to be finished soon.
