have shown leadership in diversity. Target, Dr. Verna Price, Miquel
Purvis McMoore and Gene Washington will be recognized at the NBMBAA
29th annual scholarship dinner at the downtown Minneapolis Radisson
Hotel on August 12th.
Target
is the 2010 NBMBAA-TC Corporate Partner of the Year for its
commitment to diversity and inclusion and its continued
partnership. Target's sponsorship and resource support was
instrumental in NBMBAA-TC's first-time attendance at this year's
annual Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Case Competition in Florida.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award is given to minorities who have
not only excelled in their personal business ventures, but who have
fostered relationships with people in the community. Dr. Verna
Price is committed to empowering and motivating people to realize
and positively use their personal power thus increasing a company's
productivity and service level. Miquel Purvis McMoore is the
president of kp companies, a professional recruiting firm that has
successfully matched professionals with local and international
firms like United Health Group and Medtronic. Both Dr. Price and
McMoore are the 2010 NBMBAA-TC Entrepreneur of the Year.
The recipient of the 2010 NBMBAA-TC Advocate of the Year award is
Gene Washington. Washington's fine work as the manager of Workforce
Diversity in 3M's Talent Solutions
