Amboli Ashram news Dec - Apr 2011
Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham concluded its first season of activities in the Amboli Ashram (Holistic Centre for Yoga & Vedanta, Amboli, Sawantwadi Taluka, Maharashtra state, India. www.sdet.in) by April 30th.

SYVP activities will start again here in Amboli by October 2011.

The SYVP ashram conducted a Yoga Teacher Training Course - level I , a Hatha Yoga Intensive and four yoga sadhana camps during the period from December 2010 to April 2011. All went well by Gurudev's Grace.

Swami Govindananda and Sita from Japan stayed in the ashram for the whole of the season activities. Swami Tattvarupananda participated in all the major courses teaching the Vedanta philosophy. Other staff members who were part of the ashram activities were Tulasi from Japan and Lakshmi - Laura McMohan from UK.

The ashram being at a hill station at an altitude of about 2500 ft from sea level had a very cool and silent atmosphere throughout the season, which were very conducive for the yogic activities. The ashram accommodation capacity is only 26 people in dormitory and double room accommodation together. The comparatively small number of yoga students at a time was also a good attraction for many visitors.
