In my first 20 years at Cornell, we averaged one new employee each year. So it is with a bit of melancholy that we have our first staff turnover since 2017. Adam Howell is moving to another position with a non-profit promoting the use of automated vehicles (https://pavecampaign.org/). Much like my move from Yates County a quarter century ago, some opportunities are too good to pass up. We wish Adam well in his new endeavor.

This change gives us an opportunity for growth. Amanda Link is going to step into the communications position and take over our publication and web activities (and our social media). When you talk or email Amanda, congratulate her on her new promotion (and the work that comes with it).

We will be looking for a new events coordinator to replace Amanda. If we get a new employee like Adam, Amanda, Barbara, Geoff, Melissa, or Nick we will be in great shape. Probably not a new David. Not sure the local highway community could handle that.

Free Foundational Webinars

Focused on the important principles key to local highway agency operations and management. Focusing on why we do what we do. Each webinar offers a convenient way to learn the basics of a particular topic. Taken together, they cover the foundation of local highway issues.
