Upcoming learning collaborative: Advancing Health Equity: Increasing Access to Care for IPV and Exploitation Survivors

Learn more and apply here

This learning collaborative will be presented in English with Spanish interpretation. / Este aprendizaje colaborativo se presentará en inglés con interpretación en español.

Achieving health equity for survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and human trafficking/exploitation (HT/E) begins with opportunities both at the health center (HC) level and through their community-based partnerships. The goal is to decrease barriers to care by increasing health enrollment and safety support. HCs can focus on systems change to disrupt the cycle of violence, including by developing partnerships, creating clinical workflows that utilize an evidence-based “CUES” intervention (Confidentiality, Universal Education and Empowerment, and Support), and optimizing health IT tools and UDS data collection measures. We will explore the health impact of IPV, labor trafficking/E including on farmworkers, youth and rural communities. This 4-session learning collaborative will review these system changes and best practices to advance health equity for survivors of IPV/HT/E.

Sessions will go from January 24, 2024 to February 14, 2024. All sessions will be on a Wednesday at 8am HST/10 am PST/11pmMST/12pm CST/1pm EST for 60 minutes.

We encourage all health centers and organizations to identify one staff member as the main applicant and submit one application per site. You may add multiple colleagues to this application. You can also apply individually!

Recall notice for Northern NV

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced HMC Farms is voluntarily recalling peaches, plums and nectarines due to a risk of Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious or fatal infections in vulnerable populations.

The recalled fruit is only for affected peaches, plums and nectarines distributed between May 1-Nov. 15, 2023. Current fruit available in retail markets are not included in this recall. The FDA is urging consumers to check their freezers in case there could be frozen fruit stored there, and to discard it if there is any found.
