National Research Mentoring Network helps young researchers meet their goals

"Since 2014, when the National Research Mentoring Network was initiated at UNTHSC, it has reached more than 13,000 mentees and mentors, said Associate Director Damaris Javier. The program focuses on diversifying the scientific workforce by encouraging individuals from underrepresented groups to start and stay in biomedical careers.

Transdisciplinary Community-based Participatory Research Training Workshop

(June 11-13, 2020 in Memphis, TN): Featuring nationally-recognized experts in Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), this state-of-the-art, 2 ½ day workshop is geared especially for early stage investigators from various research and/or clinical backgrounds as well as researchers and clinicians more advanced in their career who want to further hone their community engagement skills. As part of the workshop, trainees will learn how to create and sustain community partnerships in order to meaningfully impact cancer health disparities. The workshop will be held at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN from June 11-13, 2020. Applications will be accepted through March 1, 2020. Registration is free, but is limited to 50 trainees--applying early is encouraged. Decisions regarding acceptance will be made on a rolling basis.
