3. BREAST

NRG-BR003 is approaching the definitive analysis. In order to assure timely data collection and successful carryout of this study, we would like to request the sites to submit all overdue data and the supporting documentation regarding recurrence and survival status and respond to open queries within four weeks. Please refer to the memorandum, dated October 18, 2023, posted on CTSU for additional information.

NRG-BR008/HERO: Study overview webinars are being held via Microsoft Teams on November 28^th at 3pm ET and November 29^th at 11am ET. Please see the memorandum, dated October 26, 2023, (posted on CTSU) for details and how to register for one of the sessions. Please note: Google Chrome is the preferred browser to register for the webinars. 

4. GYNECOLOGIC

GOG-0210: Reminder: Biospecimens, biomarker data, clinical data, and epidemiologic data are available for request. Please visit the NRG Oncology website for more information on this important study with the overall goal of improving the outcome and/or quality of life for patients with endometrial cancer.

NRG-GY031: The Biospecimen Collection and Submission Manual can be found on the NRG Oncology NRG-GY031 webpage during the Phase I portion of the trial. The manual will then be posted on the CTSU protocol page under Protocol Related Documents for the Phase II portion. This will be clarified in the protocol document with the next amendment.

5. HEAD & NECK

NRG-HN008: Reminder - please update treatment and AE data weekly. This is a Phase I trial and timely data submission is very important.

6. VTOC TRAINING

The VTOC Webinar Training Series schedule and registration is available for NRG Oncology Research Associates working on RTOG 0924, RTOG 0920, NRG-HN001, NRG-HN002, NRG-CC003, NRG-CC005, and NRG/SWOG S1914. Space is limited so register now and reserve your seat. The next webinar training is scheduled for Wednesday November 8, 2023.

Dr. Graboyes named New Vice Chair for NRG Health Disparities Committee (HDC)

Evan Graboyes, MD, MPH named HDC Vice Chair, effective immediately. Dr. Graboyes is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where he is the Director of Survivorship and Cancer Outcomes Research (SCOR) at the NCI-designated Hollings Cancer Center. He is an active member of the HDC, Co-Chairing the HDC’s Research Concept Development Special Interest Group with outgoing HDC Vice Chair, Chanita Hughes-Halbert since 2022. Read more

The Study Team for Alliance A022101/NRG-GI009 (the ERASur Trial) will be hosting an informational webinar today October 30, 3-4pm ET. They will discuss the study background, eligibility, enrollment procedures, and trial conduct. Please refer to the memo posted on the CTSU website for how to join the webinar.

NEW NCORP Pilot Grant Application Process – LOI due November 3, 2023

NRG Oncology NCORP committee leaders will host a pilot grant workshop during the NRG Oncology Winter meeting, February 15-17, 2024. An informational session was held on September 11, 2023 and the recording along with slides are now available here:

The request for funding application (RFA) for NCORP pilot projects will be released in Spring 2024. However, anyone interested in applying for this RFA must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI); due November 3, 2023. Click here to download the form



NCORP committee chairs will review LOIs and select those best aligned with committee goals, NCORP priorities and feasibility. Selected investigators will be notified and invited to attend a workshop at #NRG2024 Winter Meeting in Orlando, Florida; February 15-17, 2024 (date/time TBD).

ASTRO Webinar: Diversity in Clinical Trials

Mitch Machtay, MD (NRG Deputy Group Chair for Research), Jennifer Wenzel, PhD, RN, CCM, FAAN, (HDC Chair), and Chanita Hughes Halbert, PhD (past HDC Vice Chair) were highlighted in a discussion for ASTRO’s Advocacy and Community Engagement Committee: Diversity in Clinical Trials Webinar in October 2023.This session is available at no cost via the ASTRO website (ASTRO registration is required). NRG Mentorship Working Group Update

Are you a new CRA or CTN within NRG Oncology? Would you like a mentor to help guide you through your new role as a CRA or CTN? Are you an institution in need of more guidance after an audit? The Mentorship Working Group can provide you a mentor! You can apply for a mentor by going to the Introductory Materials page on the NRG website. You will find the Mentor Form to complete. The instructions on how to submit are located on the form. Hope to hear from you soon!

REMINDER: Any manuscript or abstract resulting from research done under the auspices of our NCI grant awards must be processed through the NRG Publications Office before being submitted to the journal or association. Please remember to cite any pertinent grant numbers in these publications.
