Hello and Happy New Year NTS shoppers! In 2023 we were able to successfully support NOVA and give back to Bucks County with your help - let’s make 2024 an even better year!

With the new year comes new goals and resolutions. Read about some of the most common New Year’s resolutions in our Sustainability Series and ways NTS can help you achieve them in a sustainable way. We also want to hear from you - tell us your resolutions at the end of the Newsletter for a chance to win a NOVA water bottle!

  • We will no longer be accepting artificial Christmas tree donations. We will collect them again next holiday season. We will still be accepting other seasonal decorations!
  • NOVA Thrift Shop will be closed on Sunday, January 21st for our annual staff holiday celebration.
  • Bargain Cove baskets have increased to $15.00. Our basket sale will still be held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • NTS is in need of volunteers! If you are looking for a fun and rewarding place where you can help make a difference, NOVA Thrift is the place! We offer flexible shifts and hours and provide training to all new volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering, please contact the shop at 215-249-8000.

Susie and Tor have been shopping at NOVA Thrift Shop for a handful of years. Their favorite part about the shop is the variety and quality of our products. They are also big fans of our Basket Sale!

NTS would like to extend a big thank you to the volunteers from Truist Bank who joined us for a day in December! They helped us sort donations, price items and shelve items. We appreciate all their hard work and support.

This month we want to focus on three of the most common New Year’s resolutions and how NOVA Thrift Shop can help you sustainably succeed in them! To do this we have curated a list of resolutions we believe to be most common along with ideas on how you can achieve them. As an added bonus, we also wanted to give you a list of 10 Sustainable New Year’s Resolutions you can implement in your everyday life!

Health and Wellness

We all know that once the holidays are over, many people prioritize health & wellness. Many individuals buy new fitness clothing for motivation. The foodies purchase new cookbooks and kitchenware items to get inspired to try new recipes. Others buy stacks of books to help them visualize their reading goals. This year, NTS challenges you to shop secondhand instead of buying new in order to cut back on overconsumption. Our shop is filled with athletic clothing, cookbooks, reading books, and so much more to help you achieve all your goals!

Be more financially responsible

As consumption rates rise, so do prices. An easy way to cut down your spending is to shop secondhand! NTS is filled with name brand, gently used, quality products for a better price. An easy way to ensure you stay within budget while out shopping is to use cash. By doing this you can allot a limit each month for your spendings, once the cash is gone you’ve reached your limit. Check out our basket sale to get the most bang for your buck! Our basket sale takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and cost $15 per basket. You get to fill the basket with as much as you can fit from our Bargain Cove Area!

Give back to the community

NOVA Thrift Shop is affiliated with NOVA, the comprehensive victim services organization in Bucks County serving all victims of crime and providing prevention education services. Your donations, purchases, and volunteer work directly benefit NOVA and victims of crime in Bucks County.

  • DONATE - Your donations are what keep NTS up and running. Your donations keep our sales floor stocked and ready for shoppers!
  • SHOP - All purchases made at NTS directly support NOVA. Customers can also donate directly to NOVA while making a purchase!
  • VOLUNTEER - Our volunteers are the ones that keep things running smoothly. Without them, none of our work would be possible. If you want to volunteer, please contact the shop at 215-249-8000.

No matter if you shop, donate, or volunteer you are directly supporting the services and programs that NOVA provides to the Bucks County community and we greatly appreciate your contributions.

Mission Moment

Last month, the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa corporate team paid a visit to NOVA's Jamison office. During their visit, we were able to exchange information about our diverse services, provide a tour of the various spaces where we extend our support, and collaboratively wrap the generous donations they contributed to NOVA from their holiday donation drive.

From essential cleaning supplies to non-perishable food items, the Hand & Stone team graciously gathered these donations throughout the holiday season. Their thoughtful contributions aim to empower us in providing the best possible support for the victims of crime we serve, recognizing that securing basic needs is pivotal to fostering a positive environment for their healing journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the Hand and Stone staff for their generous contributions to support NOVA clients!
