Romans 1:16 Amplified Bible 16 I am not ashamed of the gospel
Paul's life was consumed by his calling and mission to preach the gospel, for this very reason he could proclaim the gospel with no shame. He understood the importance of preaching the gospel, for he knew it is the power of God unto salvation. This is why he made this statement, he declared I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
Ashamed in the strong means, to feel shame for something; - be ashamed.
Are you ashamed of the gospel of Christ? This is a question you can only answer.
If we are not living according to the principles of the gospel, we are practically saying that we are ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Even though we do not say it with our mouth, our lifestyle speaks louder than words. When we live according to the principles of the gospel, we are declaring with our lives that we are not ashamed of the Gospel. We proclaim the gospel when we live according to it and we apply it to our lives, we become doers of the word, this way we are declaring what we believe.
This is a choice we all must take in our lives to declare that we are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. We must live it! If we are not living by the gospel we are ashamed of it.
Paul's life is a testimony to us that he was not ashamed of the Gospel. He was able to deliver the message as he received it from the Lord through the Holy Spirit, he delivered it with no shame.
This should be our position as representatives of the Kingdom, as the mouthpiece of the Lord, to say what He asks of us.
Do not allow the pressure from around you and of this world to pull you in to deny the gospel of Christ and to be ashamed. Jesus paid a big price for you and me to bring us into fellowship with the Father, in order for you and me to take the message of the gospel.
Can you imagine what Paul had to suffer and endure to preach the truth of the gospel? He had to deny himself in order to be able to fulfill the mission. Denying self requires obedience! Obedience requires that we become doers of the word of the gospel of Christ!
If you are reading this letter today, if you are called by the Lord, do not be ashamed of the Gospel because of persecution, trials, needs and tribulations. It is our responsibility as citizens of the kingdom to take the message and give testimony of the gospel.
Don't be afraid that they will leave you, put you aside or turn away from you, because of what you believe in or what you stand for!
I myself had to stand firm many times, for believing in the truth of the gospel of Christ. I am not afraid! I can truly tell you that I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. This is my position and I stand on that.
I exhort you to be strong in the Lord, and the power of His might! Ephesians 6:10
Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Christ!
Luke 9:26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and the holy angels.
Matthew 10:33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
Philippians 3:8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
