On September 10-12, NOSORH will host the 2024 NOSORH Annual Meeting in Niagara Falls, New York! This much-anticipated gathering brings together all 50 State Offices of Rural Health, rural partners, and expert speakers for several days of rural health education, collaboration, and networking.

Rural Health Policy Update

Update provided by Andrew Coats, NOSORH Legislative Liaison

Appropriations Update: Congress returns to DC on September 9 following a five-week hiatus. Upon returning, they will have three weeks to agree to a continuing resolution (CR) on FY 2025 spending. The House plans to vote on a CR bill next week that would fund federal agencies through February 2025. Given various policy riders expected to be included in the House bill, Senate Democrats will oppose the measure. Ultimately, that gives Congress 1-2 weeks to pass a more straightforward CR that will keep federal programs funded at FY 2024 levels through the election. Read More

NOSORH Grant Writing Institute- Coming this Fall!

Back by popular demand, the NOSORH Rural Health Grant Writing Institute will return in the Fall of 2024! This program is designed to equip grant writers in rural areas with essential skills and strategies. Led by experienced instructor Teryl Eisinger, who brings over 25 years of grant writing expertise, the Institute promises to be an invaluable resource. Virtual learning sessions will be held Mondays from 3:00-4:30 pm ET, starting October 21 and running through December 16, 2024. Free Rural Telementoring "UnConference" Scheduled for October 16th

The Rural Telementoring Training Center (RTTC) invites you to their 3rd annual Rural Telementoring UnConference on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The UnConference is a FREE, virtual event featuring an array of brief presentations on rural health and telementoring followed by group discussion, idea generation, and collaboration. Unlike traditional conferences, an UnConference provides a structure that facilitates sharing experiences, idea generation, and partnership building in pursuit of shared goals.
