Camp Lewis 75th Anniversary Weekend

Camp Lewis would like you to help celebrate 75 years of fun, excitement, and learning.  Whether you are still a scout or attended camp many years ago, we would like to invite you to come take a walk down memory lane. Come see how our great camp has progressed. This event will kickoff on Friday July 27th with our opening ceremonies and conclude on Sunday morning. During this time you will be able to visit and participate in many of our program areas, enjoy the cooking of our homegrown Chefs and enjoy the entertainment of our many musicians. Young and old this will give you an opportunity to remember why our program is so important.

Camp Beaver Days / Work Weekends

Help make sure our camps are ready for summer! Plan today to lend a hand at one of our upcoming Beaver Days!

Beaver Days are an important time each year at all of our camps to help prepare camp for the summer. Older Scouts, Scouters, and Parents are invited to participate in Beaver Day events. Scouters with skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing or other trades are especially encouraged to attend. This council-wide event is a time to do major work projects at camp in preparation for the summer camp season.

The following days are planned this Spring for the following camps...

Camp Lewis:  May 12 | June 23

Camp Turrell:  May 12 | June 9

Floodwood:  June 1-3  |  June 22-24
Philmont 2019 NNJC Contingent

We are currently accepting reservations for Troops or Venturing Crews that are interested in attending Philmont July 8-20, 2019 with a 2 day excursion beforehand leaving on July 6th.  Participants should expect to leave early morning on July 6, 2019.  We have 2 crews of 12 participants for a total of 24 spaces for our Contingent.  Please let Chris Clark know if you are interested ASAP.  Cost is estimated at $2,650 per person.  This includes the Philmont Fee, Blue Sky Adventure Tours Fee, Airfare, All Meals, Busing to and from Airport, and all Liability.  The first deposit of $200.00 will be due when signing up which is non-refundable but is transferrable and is due April 15, 2018.  

There are 20 Spaces available!  Please email Chris.Clark@scouting.org ASAP to let us know of your interest.

Weather Hazards Training Update

BREAKING NEWS:  Effective April 30th, 2018 new direct contact leaders must complete Hazardous Weather Training to be considered position trained.

Weekend #1 - May 18-20, 2018 (Fri AM - Sun PM) - Winnebago Scout Reservation
Weekend #2 - June 9-11, 2018 - (Sat AM - Mon PM) Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation

REGISTRATION FOR THE 2018 NNJBSA NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING (NYLT) COURSE IS NOW OPEN!
 
This year's NYLT Course will be hosted at Camp Turrell inCuddebackville NY, from August 12-18, 2018. Participants will spend a week working together in patrols learning valuable skills like planning, goal setting, conflict resolution, communication, and more.
 
Using the EDGE method, participants will learn how to teach Scout skills to the other youth in their units as they help them on their Scouting journey. When they return to their home, they will be fully prepared to take a leadership role in their units! Along the way, participants will make new friends and HAVE FUN! Games, competitions, camp songs, campfire programs, and an outpost adventure are just some of the fun events planned for this year's course!
 
NYLT is led by a youth staff who have spent the year planning and preparing to provide the best possible training experience for our participants . All graduates of NYLT, the youth staff have held leadership roles in their home units, the Order of the Arrow, the Venturing Officers Association, in their schools, and in their communities.
