Your Input Matters

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), Office of Veterinary Public Health, is requesting the participation of small animal veterinarians in New Jersey in a short survey. The purpose of this survey is to obtain information on the current costs associated with dog and cat spay and neuter surgeries, as well as ask for input on preferred methods of receiving communication from NJDOH. Responses from this survey will be used to help evaluate the reimbursement fees associated with New Jersey’s low-cost spay/neuter program. This survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete.

503A or 503B: Knowing When to Order from Each One

Where do you get your compounded medications from? Before the introduction of 503B outsourcing facilities, this was probably a straightforward question. The increased options add complexity to both patient and bulk in-house clinic orders. Arming yourself with knowledge about the differences between 503A compounding pharmacies and 503B facilities, can demystify this choice. Read more.

Free CE! Update on Opioids 2023: Opioid-less: Less to Use, Using Less

Recording Now available

Like it or not, the opioid epidemic involves veterinarians and has changed the landscape and industry guidelines for their use. This session will discuss how the veterinary profession interfaces with the opioid epidemic, and our new role and responsibilities as it pertains to utilization of this important drug class. Special attention will be given to strategies that permit the practitioner to diminish the use of full-mu agonists (frequency, dose, duration and possibly in favor of other opioids) while still controlling patient pain.
