This session will provide an understanding about the latest insights into Semaglutide's (Wegovy) expanded label indication and its impact on cardiovascular outcomes in patients with obesity. The discussion will present the practical implications of this new data for pharmacy practice and patient care.

Meet Our Presenters!

Niki Patel, PharmD, MBA, CDCES, is currently a Medical Accounts Director with Novo Nordisk, focused on education and guideline-based care in cardiometabolic diseases across the tri-state area. In this role, she works with employers, health plans, coalitions, and health systems responsible for clinical decisions impacting millions of patients throughout the country. Her aim is to assist organizations in improving health via appropriate medical management.

Additionally, Niki serves on the Board for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s Northeast chapter and involved in the Princeton-Mercer Chamber of Commerce. She previously served on the board of NYC Society of Health Systems Pharmacists and as an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University.

Alyssa Gallipani (Ford), PharmD, BCACP


Alyssa Joy Ford is a board certified ambulatory care pharmacist at RWJBarnabas Health. Dr. Ford earned her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from MCPHS University in Boston. She went on to complete a Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ and a Post Graduate Year 2 Ambulatory Care Residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn NY. She currently practices in Barnabas Health Medical Group with RWJBarnabas Health in 2 primary care office practices with 12 prescribers. Under collaborative practice agreements, Dr. Ford collaborates with prescribers to treat chronic disease states such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. She enjoys helping patients meet their health care goals, while developing and maintain relationships with patients and their health care providers. Dr. Ford is also the residency program director for the Post Graduate Year 2 in Ambulatory Care at RWJBarnabas Health.
