The University distributed more than $1.6 million in donor scholarships for the 2023-24 academic year, a 50 percent increase over the amount provided five years ago.
The Gala is the University’s largest event to raise funds for student scholarships. All proceeds from the Gala directly fund academic scholarships at WP. 
The lounge was grant-funded by the NJ Office of the Secretary of Higher Education and developed by the Counseling, Health and Wellness Center, Accessibility Resource Center, and library.
“Current students in fourth through sixth grade were just beginning their formal schooling experience and learning to read in 2020 when schools shut down due to the COVID pandemic,” notes education professor Julie Rosenthal.
