ENCOURAGE COLORADANS TO GET VACCINATED

As a local public health agency, you are a critical and valued partner in slowing the spread of
COVID-19, getting the vaccine to Coloradans, and ending the pandemic. Your communities have relied
on you throughout the pandemic as a source of reliable information. To support your efforts, CDPHE has developed a statewide mass-media campaign and resources that can be used in your community. Resources to support the COVID-19 vaccine marketing campaign are below.

VACCINE FUNDING OPPORTUNITY

Together We Protect – Colorado’s COVID-19 Vaccine Equity Fund will support Colorado community-based organizations, working in partnership with state-contracted vaccine providers, to provide culturally relevant outreach, education, and support to ensure communities who face systemic barriers have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. Grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 will be awarded to applicants from across Colorado. Get more information here.
VACCINE DASHBOARD NOW INCLUDES COUNTY DATA

Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) announced that the vaccine data dashboard includes county-level vaccine administration data in beta. The goal of the expanded data dashboard is part of the state's commitment to prioritize data transparency throughout the COVID-19 response, to inform an equitable vaccine distribution process, and ensure accountability. Continue to stay up to date by visiting the Colorado COVID-19 website
PROVIDER RESOURCES AND INFORMATION
CHILDHOOD LEAD POISONING PREVENTION

Lead poisoning is the No. 1 preventable environmental health threat to children. About 1 in every 30 children who received lead tests had elevated blood lead levels. These children have a higher risk for developing intellectual, behavioral and academic deficits. Lead poisoning is an issue in Colorado and additional work is needed in reducing lead poisoning.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has extensive information, resources and tools for healthcare providers and families. This also includes The Colorado Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, a CDC-funded program with strategies in partnership building, surveillance, case investigation & management, prevention and evaluation.

Maternal & Child Environmental Health provides several action plans and strategies for child lead poisoning prevention. For more information about the CDC’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, click here.
BILLING AND RENDERING NPI REQUIRED ON CLAIM SUBMISSIONS

Beacon Health Options is excited to announce that we are enhancing our claims processing system. In an effort to reduce the need to adjust or correct claims periodically, the following adjustment is being made to our claims documentation requirements to enhance our claims processing accuracy.
Effective March 1st, 2021:
  • Providers must include both the billing and the rendering NPI numbers in the appropriate boxes on all HCFA 1500 (professional) paper claim submissions and/or the 837-p equivalent.
  • Solo practitioners must submit their NPI in both the billing and rendering fields.
  • Group and facility providers must submit the billing NPI as well as the rendering NPI numbers in the appropriate fields. Please note, for group and facility providers, the billing NPI is different and distinct from the rendering NPI.
As of 3/1/21, claims that are missing either NPI number will be denied if received on paper or rejected if received electronically as the claim will not meet our enhanced claims management criteria. Providers should resubmit denied or rejected claims with appropriate NPI numbers within applicable timeframes for processing.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to assist in our commitment to enhance the provider claims experience.
