IN-PERSON AND REMOTE COUNSELING AVAILABLE AT NUTLEY FAMILY SERVICE BUREAU
True to our philosophy of responsivity to community needs, Nutley Family Service Bureau adapted across the organization to the many challenges of operating in a time of pandemic. One of the major ways we maintained service delivery was via Telehealth counseling.

Staela Keegan, MSW, LCSW, LCADC, Clinical Director, comments, "Telehealth has been a game changer for NFSB. We were able to continue services even at the height of pandemic challenges. All our clinicians were able to provide counseling to clients safely from their homes and offer the support that was so necessary, especially in the early days of lock down."
THE ANXIETY OF RETURNING TO THE CLASSROOM AND THE WORKPLACE
When society was blindsided by the COVID-19 pandemic, people adapted. Children learned virtually and anyone who could work from home did so. People used different coping skills to adapt to a lifestyle spent mostly at home.

Students heading back to school and adults heading back to work for the first time in more than a year could be facing a difficult transition. Find out more about how NFSB can help meet some of the most common challenges associated with such stressful circumstances.
NFSB HELPS SENIORS NAVIGATE SOCIAL SERVICES AND OVERCOME ISOLATION
Seniors in our community have been affected more by COVID-19 than any other group. Need for social services in particular has never been higher, and the team at Nutley Family Service Bureau (NFSB) is eager to guide seniors through what is often a complicated process.

Navigating the automated prompts and interacting with a robot during a phone call can be confusing and frustrating. Some clients have told us that they just hung up because they couldn't get in touch with a live person. This can cause people to have services delayed or, in rare cases, they could miss out on services they need.
SENIOR OUTREACH PROGRAM SHOWS HOW YOUTH VOLUNTEERS ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Siri Bhat's community service project focused on helping seniors personifies the impact of youth volunteering at NFSB. When Siri spoke with NFSB Case Management Coordinator Molly Clark and expressed an interest in a project that would focus on helping seniors, they came up with the idea to develop a Senior Outreach program.

The program will involve Siri and other local youth from the community visiting the Nutley Senior Center twice a month to enjoy activities with residents and provide assistance as needed.
