HOW THE "FEEL GOOD" NATURE OF VOLUNTEERING EXTENDS TO OVERALL WELLNESS
When most people think of volunteering, they focus on the “feel good” aspect of helping others and supporting a worthy cause. There’s no doubt that volunteering is one of the most rewarding activities one could experience.

NUTLEY BAKERIES STEP UP TO PROVIDE BREAD FOR THOSE IN NEED
In 2017, Dorothy Huey asked the person behind the counter at a local bakery what they do with their bread at the end of the day. The person said any leftovers are thrown out.

“I know bakeries can only put out fresh bread each day, but I didn’t realize the bread that wasn’t sold was being thrown in the garbage,” Dorothy said. “I knew there must be a way to get this bread to people who need it.
NFSB CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES CONTINUE MEETING COMMUNITY NEEDS
For many years, NFSB has offered case management services to assist members of the community with food insecurity, housing, financial assistance, home care, and other important services.

To enhance the case management program and ensure that clients receive the help they need, NFSB recently introduced Molly Clark, MSW (Master of Social Work) as the organization’s Case Management Coordinator.
MEET THE COUNSELORS: KRISTEN PETULLO, MSW, LCSW
From a young age, Kristen Petullo, MSW (Master of Social Work), LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) knew she wanted to help people. She just wasn’t sure how until she went to college to become a teacher.

“I remember the light bulb moment,” Kristen said. “I was in an educational psychology class and it dawned on me that I found the mental processes of learning more interesting than the actual teaching methods and subject matter. From there, I was drawn to the counseling world.”
