MARCH 29, 2024

“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross,

so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness;

“by his wounds you have been healed.”

Good Friday Offerings will be directed to support ministries

of the Anglican Communion Province of Jerusalem

and the Middle East.

Grace and Peace,

The logistical preparations for Holy Week, and Easter, began months ago. The theological preparations began in December with the coming of Emmanuel, God with us, and the birth of Jesus of Nazareth (take as much time as you want to think about that one).

Our own spiritual preparations differ based upon each of our unique journeys with God. We know that our journey is not a straight line; it rises and falls, it backtracks, sometimes it comes to a halt, and sometimes, it is like a bobsled, careening on the edge of control, coming ever closer to Jesus. As unpredictable as our personal journey may be, God’s love is predictable.

God will always, always, welcome each of us into God’s loving arms. God will welcome us as the prodigal son was welcomed, God will welcome us as the saints in heaven are welcomed. However, it is that we arrive at God’s feet, God will welcome us with the embrace of God’s loving arms and invite us to partake in that heavenly banquet. This is the essence of Holy Week and Easter.

It is my hope and prayer, that each of us feel God’s loving embrace.

Peace,

Fr. Henry+

See what great love the Father has lavished on us,

that we should be called children of God!

And that is what we are!
