Dear Southernites and Friends:
We continue to extend our prayers, thoughts and support for our extended Jaguar family throughout Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana in the wake of the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Similarly, our thoughts and prayers are with our alumni, family and friends in the State of Florida and other states that may be impacted by Hurricane Irma in the coming days. Our Houston Chapter continues to offer local support, and our Southern University System Foundation continues to accept financial support on behalf of the University.

Anniversary Planning Committee. The Gala Friday night was wonderful, full of rich stories about the history of the Law Center, and a great forum for networking with old friends and colleagues in the legal profession. Similarly, kudos to Athletic Director Roman Banks and his team on the Legends Kickoff Extravaganza. The legends who were honored continue to be such positive role models and representatives of our alma mater. The Jaguar Jamboree by the Home Chapter, along with the Pep Rally and Adopt-A-Juke Donor Recognition, were all very successful. And, of course, congratulations to the Jaguar football team on a thrilling victory! I look forward to traveling to Hattiesburg for the Southern Mississippi game tomorrow...
