Merry Christmas, Southernites:
It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year! Marian and I look forward to celebrating the holidays close to home with family and friends. Our kids are out of school, and our house is bustling with excitement and cheer. Abigail is eagerly awaiting Santa’s arrival Monday morning, and we all look forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The University is closed, and professors are working to get final grades turned in for our students, as they too return home for the Christmas break. I’m proud to report I turned mine in early.
I received my hard copy of
The Southernite
in the mail this week. I’m sure you will agree that it is a fantastic magazine and reading it is a great way to end 2017. Our Executive Board met earlier this week, and we are busy developing our schedule of activities and events for 2018. I cannot thank our staff and national officers enough for their hard work and dedication to our alma mater this year. Most importantly thanks to all of you for your support of Southern University and the students who make all of our jobs worthwhile.
On behalf of the Alumni Federation Executive Board, our remarkable staff, student interns, and Chapter Presidents across the nation, I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
Sincerely,
Preston J. Castille, Jr., Esq.
