ABA & The Common Core
Workshop Description

Using the ABA Curriculum for the Common Core focuses on addressing the needs of elementary students with autism who are in classrooms that require the use of the Common Core State Standards. This workshop will discuss basic applications of behavioral technologies in the classroom setting, how to task analyze and individualize skills for students with special needs, and how to take data in a classroom setting.

The key focus of both the books and the session is to provide meaningful access to the standards, by ensuring that teachers are teaching at a student’s current skill level. Emphasis will be placed on drilling down into standards, using motivating materials to teach new skills, and focusing on generalization and maintenance of new skills.
