Summaries of timely road safety news, events, and alerts

Message from NETS' Executive Director,
Susan Hipp

Our coffee grinder broke recently which, in our household of daily cappuccinos, is a big deal. We took it apart, cleaned it, worked on the grinder, all to no avail. It still wouldn’t work. After 5 or 6 times of trying different things, we almost gave up. But on the last try we finally figured out which part wasn’t working and were able to fix it.

The lesson here was we had to accurately diagnose the problem in order to fix it.

How do you address problems in your fleet? Are you struggling with too many rear-end collisions? Or how about backing into objects, or parking lot crashes? Are you finding the root cause in order to manage and correct the problems, or are you “taking the coffee grinder apart” 5 or 6 times before finding the solution?

If you have challenges in your fleet safety program, I invite you to join us at either of our upcoming conferencesour EMEA Regional Conference in Paris in September, or our annual conference in Indianapolis in October. Both conferences will address the challenges and issues you face in your fleet and will lead you to ways you can accurately diagnose the problems and correct them through expert insights and networking with other fleet safety professionals.

Keynote presenters have been announced for both conferences, the full programme is available for the EMEA Regional Conference, and more information is coming soon on the sector meetings and full agenda for the annual conference.

Register soon before space fills up!

And now that I’ve addressed the problem, I can go have another cappuccino.
