Fall 2020
NEFP has fed over 300,000 people more than 7 million pounds of food this year!
Dear friends

The year 2020 is one we won’t soon forget. I hope you have been safe and well. Our year at Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) has been one for the record books! The Oregon Food Bank has declared that we are the most active emergency food program in the entire state.

This comes at a cost, and we need your financial help to finish our year strong.
We began the year full of excitement and enthusiasm for our nearly complete Project UpLift! The project included remodeled bathrooms and kitchen, a newly-designed pantry, new lighting and much more. These updates were vital to ensuring every person felt welcome and cared for in our space.
And then March came. By the middle of the month, we realized we could no longer invite clients and volunteers into our beautiful space. We moved our distribution outside and turned the inside into one giant food warehouse. The people kept coming—March and April are an absolute blur in my memory.

We went from serving 3,372 individuals in February to serving over 34,000 in March, 45,000 in April and an astonishing 50,108 in May.
As I write this email, we have fed over 300,000 people more than 7 million pounds of food this year! We are preparing for winter by purchasing tents, plus heavy-duty rain gear for staff and volunteers. We need your help in order to continue feeding thousands of families each month.

Would you consider becoming a monthly donor or make a one-time gift of any amount? You may give online at emoregon.org/nefp/give or select the Give Now button below. Thank you for your support, and blessings to you in the new year. We couldn’t do what we do without your generosity.
Sincerely,
A'Jay Scipio
