JUNE, 2024

YOWZAH!!!

To say NEECA hit the ground running this year might be a bit of an understatement. In the month of May alone we hosted six very successful events, encompassing a wide variety of equestrian interests and activities. And that is what NEECA is all about. This organization and facility is unique BECAUSE of its diversity and focus on offering "something for everyone" regardless of their riding interest, skill level, etc.

The NEECA Drivers continues to grow, thanks in great part to the hard work of NEECA Board Member Pam DeGregorio. New drivers are joining every month and the driving area continues to be expanded and improved upon.

The Luke Reinbold clinic did not disappoint. 12 riders attended and learned a lot of new concepts and skills during this two day event. We hope to have Luke back again for another clinic next year.

Eight riders took part in our first ever Ride Review Ride, with Laurie Corcoran as our judge. It was a beautiful day, the rides were fun to watch, and the participants were very receptive to Laurie's feedback and instruction. And the NEECA Main Arena looked wonderful (see above)!!

Heron's Crest hosted it's second show of the season, and the numbers for this fun, lowkey, VERY supportive show continue to grow as well as the good word is spreading.

Over 20 participants took part in the first of two Versatility Clinics held at NEECA's Confidence Course. Whether mounted or leading, the clinic attendees and their horses worked together to navigate a variety of challenges offered in the Confidence Course with Pete Whitmore's guidance.

We ended the month with NEECA's first Gymkhana of the season with 50 riders attending the Sunday before Memorial Day. Wonderful day all the way around and there were loads of spectators there to watch the fun as well. The NEECA Nibblers Food Booth was very busy, and we had a special guest this month looking for a carrot!

It will be happening at NEECA's Main Arena. Drills in morning from 10-12, Practice Game in afternoon from1-3.

Linda LeBlanc will be conducting another Toxic Plant Walk and Talk up at NEECA on Saturday, June 8th. Linda will identify and discuss the various plants in this area that are potentially toxic to horses, many found in or near are own pastures sometime! Participants will also receive NEECA's new Toxic Plant Brochure. This presentation is FREE and we strongly encourage you to attend. Sometimes what you don't know Can hurt you, or your horse in this instance.
