On the evening of April 2, the Connecticut Association of Schools held its annual Arts Awards Banquet. Each high school nominated two seniors who excelled in the visual or performing arts, and possess qualities of leadership and scholarship. There were 130 high schools represented!
The 2024 Notre Dame CAS Awards recipients are: MaXin Liao ('24) who was recognized for her outstanding dedication and production of her visual art pieces. MaXin's art processes and techniques have continued to grow and evolve throughout her 4 years at Notre Dame. Her unique art style has become a recognizable and iconic part of the ND Visual Art Program. MaXin said, "I enjoy creating art to express profound and untouched feelings of humans that are complex and hard to interpret. I want to utilize the skills I have procured to aid me in creating art pieces in college as well as producing designs for products immensely intertwined with the business career I want to pursue."
Jaleah Ortiz ('24) who was recognized for her commitment to the performing arts at Notre Dame. She is a four year member of both the school choir and spring musical. You can find Jaleah singing at almost any school sponsored event. In her time at school, she has performed at concerts, musicals, fundraisers, masses, prayer services, baccalaureates, and tree lightings. Her talent, time, and passion have greatly benefitted the ND community, and we are so for Jaleah sharing these musical gifts with us for the past four years.
