State ISASP Testing ~ This Week

ISASP testing will take place next week. All 9-11th grades will do testing in the morning with regularly scheduled classes following. Seniors will be following a 2 hour delay start. On Monday only sophomores will be testing. All freshmen, juniors and seniors will report at 9:50 am on Monday. There will be no early out on Wednesday, March 26th. Students will test in assigned RTI rooms (this information will be coming this week). Kirkwood students will need to report to the Novak room Monday - Wednesday when they return to Xavier and during RTI if not finished. 


Students testing start at 7:50am, all other students start at 9:50am


  • Monday, March 25 - 10th grades testing
  • Tuesday, March 26 - 9th, 10th, 11th grades testing
  • Wednesday, March 27 - 9th, 10th, 11th grades testing *2:45pm Dismissal


The state of Iowa recently sent an email stating that students receiving ESAs must take these ISASP tests. In fact, all students, grades 9-11 are required by law to take these tests. (This does not apply to 12th grade students.) If your student is unable to take the required test on the scheduled date, Student Services will contact the student to reschedule.

It's Busing Reimbursement Time!

If you live in the Cedar Rapids Community School District, please return the completed form to the Xavier main office by Monday, April 29th.


If you live in College Community, Linn Mar Community, Marion Independent or any other district, the form must be mailed directly to that district's business office. They must receive it by May 1st.


If you live in a school district that is not listed you will need to contact that school district’s business or transportation department to obtain the form and address to mail it to.

PowerSchool Registration ~ Deadline this Friday!

Just a reminder, the deadline to complete PowerSchool registration is March 29, 2024 for priority enrollment. After March 29, 2024 all registration materials are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Blood Drive

Xavier will be hosting a blood drive through Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center on Tuesday, April 2nd from 8am to noon in the gym balcony. To sign up click Here or contact kris.naeve@xaviersaints.org for more information. Xavier Catholic Schools is now hiring for the Administrative Assistant to the President position. Specifically, this role will provide administrative support to the President of Xavier Catholic Schools in carrying out the necessary administrative functions of the central office.

The deadline is coming up this week to order graduation party supplies through the Saint Shop. Special order Xavier logo imprinted:

Last Few Days to Turn in Hy-Vee Receipts

Please continue to drop off Hy-Vee receipts for their Cash 4 Students program at the main office anytime in March. The deadline to turn in receipts is Thursday, March 28th. Thank you for your help with this wonderful program!

Senior Photos Deadline

Seniors Photos for the yearbook will be due March 29th and can be emailed to Lauren Phillips at lauren.phillips@xaviersaints.org.


Students should be in appropriate attire with no baseball caps. Headshots are preferred.

Construction Apprenticeship Fair

Mrs. Joens will be taking students to a construction apprenticeship fair on April 11th sponsored by Building/Construction Trades Council from 9:00-1:30. Students will learn about 12 different trades. Lunch and transportation will be provided. Please email Mrs. Joens to register.

Career & Service Fair


Parents - Do you have a career you think Xavier students should know about? Or do you have a place you volunteer you'd like to let Xavier students know about?


If so, please consider signing up for Xavier's first-ever joint Career & Service Fair on Thursday, April 4th from 10:30-12:30. Students will have time to circulate through the career fair and then the service fair that day as a way to connect their careers with their passion for serving. We are looking for a few great volunteers to come speak about their careers in a college fair style event.  If you've helped in the past you will recall it is a lot of fun!


Set up will begin at 9:30 with students beginning at 10:00.  A grab and go lunch will be provided at the end of the fair.  If you are available please complete this form.  If you have any questions regarding the event please let me know

Live Stations of the Cross

On Holy Thursday, March 28, Xavier students will put on a Live Stations of the Cross for the whole school. There will be two performances at 10:40 AM & 11:25 AM.

Kairos 51


There are still a couple of spots available for April (4-7) Kairos!


  • The retreat will be held at Ridgehaven Cono Camp in Walker, IA.
  • It begins after school on Thursday and concludes Sunday afternoon.
  • The cost $175. Registration is taken through 8to18.
  • If you need aid assistance, contact Angie Calhoun.
  • If you are a family that received an ESA and your student has remaining funds available, you should be able to use those toward this fee by logging into your Odyssey account and searching the Marketplace. 

Activities...

Dance Parent Meeting

There will be a mandatory parent information meeting for all parents of all girls who will be auditioning for the Xavier dance team on Tuesday, March 26th, at 6:00 PM in the Xavier Library.

Softball Parent/Player Meeting

There will be a softball Parent/Player meeting for all girls planning on playing softball this summer, on Wednesday, March 27th, at 5:30pm in the Xavier Commons.

Color Guard Auditions


Color Guard Auditions for the 24-25 school year will be held on Tuesday, April 16th and Thursday, April 18th from 5:30-7:00 PM @ Xavier HS in the Practice gym.



Clinics will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 12:30-3:00 PM in the Regis Middle School Gym and on Tuesday, April 16th from 4:00-5:30 PM in the Xavier Practice gym.
