Our heartiest felicitations on the auspicious month of Rajab in which we commenorate a number of milestone events, perhaps the most significant of which are the birth of the Commander of the Faithful, our First Holy Imam Ali (A.S.) and Me'raaj, the Ascent of our Holy Prophet Mohamed (SAW) to heaven. May Allah (SWT) continue to bless your families and loved ones. Please continue to pray for the plight of Muslims worldwide, especially the Palestinians in the Occupied Territories.

On Monday, in commemoration of the 7th anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting, NASIMCO CAO, Sr. Shifa Abbas, attended the NCCM Advocacy Day in Ottawa alongside over 200 community leaders from across the country. 

For us, this event solidified the need for NASIMCO to be an active voice in advocacy as a representative of Shia Ithna Muslim Communities Organizations across Canada.

Earlier this month, on January 13, 2024, the President of the North American Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities Organization (NASIMCO), Br. Arif Jacksi, participated in a significant event—the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hussaini Islamic Center (HIC) in Orlando, Florida. This momentous occasion marked the initiation of construction for the HIC, symbolizing a milestone for the Shia Muslim community in North America.

We commended President of HIC, Br. Mahmood Dhalla, and his entire team for the work put into this project thus far and wish them great success in their endeavor.

NASIMCO delegates, Ebrahim Rehmtulla and Habib Meghjee, recently represented the organization at the Executive Council (ExCo) meeting of the World Federation in Karachi, Pakistan. The meeting, held in December, served as a platform for discussions, collaborations, and strategic planning on matters of significance to the global Shia community.



Ebrahim Rehmtulla and Habib Meghjee, as delegates from NASIMCO, played a crucial role in contributing to the discussions during the World Federation ExCo meeting. Their presence underscored the commitment of NASIMCO to fostering international cooperation, dialogue, and solidarity among Shia Muslims.

NASIMCO Executive Councillor Ebrahim Rehmtulla and Treasurer Sibtain Merchant proudly represented NASIMCO at the Unity Games in Dubai in December, a vibrant sports festival designed to celebrate community, camaraderie, and athleticism. The event, held recently, attracted teams from across North America, creating an atmosphere of friendly competition and unity. Watch Br. Ebrahim's address above.
