Precision in every step, pride in every salute. Congratulations to the NASD Air Force JROTC on a successful inspection day! The Flying Tiger cadets of Unit PA-022 participated in a uniform inspection, 30 Step Drill Sequence, unit mission briefing, and observations, and gave inspectors tours of our facilities. November 15 School Board Meeting Agenda Available

Buildings and Grounds Committee Meeting - 6:00 p.m.


The Wednesday, November 15, School Board Combined Meeting agenda is now available on BoardDocs. The Buildings and Grounds Committee Meeting will meet at 6:00 p.m. and the Combined Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Central Administration Office (CAO) Board Room.

Upcoming North Allegheny School District Police Department Informational Meeting

 

As part of the District’s continuing efforts to promote safety and security across all our schools, the North Allegheny Board of School Directors, at the Regular Board meeting on October 25, 2023, approved the formation of the North Allegheny School District Police Department by approving the job descriptions for a Chief of School Police, Safety, and Security and of District Police Officers. 

 

For those who would like to learn more about how the North Allegheny School District Police Department will function, the District will hold an upcoming in-person meeting listed below. All parents should feel free to attend or click on the slide presentation linked here to review virtually.  

 

  • Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC) - November 13, 2023, at 7:00 p.m.

 

All meetings above will be held at North Allegheny’s Central Administration Office, 200 Hillvue Lane, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Each presentation will include the same information. 

Weather Alert: Closings & Delays

 

In the event of a two-hour delay or if North Allegheny schools are closed because of snow or other emergency conditions, the official announcement is provided on the NA website: www.northallegheny.org. The information is also communicated on local television stations and through the District’s School Messenger system. The District will not post delays and closings to social media.

 

Kindergarten parents – please be mindful of the modified schedule for kindergarten when there is a two-hour delay:

  • AM Kindergarten: 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • PM Kindergarten: 1:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

 

If school is canceled due to inclement weather, there will be no school on the first two canceled days, utilizing the two snow days built into the school calendar.

  • All subsequent snow days will be asynchronous Flexible Instruction Days.
  • On these days students will complete learning activities and assignments at home provided by their teachers.

Math Resources Available For Review at NASD Central Administration Office from November 13 to December 13


North Allegheny Curriculum Review Teams are recommending a continuation of current math resources for students in grades K-12. The materials will be on public display from November 13 through December 13 at North Allegheny’s Central Administration Office. To schedule a time to review the materials, please contact the office of elementary or secondary education


The North Allegheny Board of School Directors will vote on the adoption of these resources on December 13. If the math resources are approved, the new editions will be implemented during the 2024-2025 school year.

NA High School Musical: “Little Shop of Horrors"

November 9, 11, & 12


Our high school cast is blooming with talent as they present “Little Shop of Horrors.” Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice and an unquenchable thirst for HUMAN BLOOD. As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood. Just when it’s too late, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and his true drive for world-domination.

NA Middle School Musical:

"Disney's Finding Nemo Jr."

November 16, 18, & 19


When the North Allegheny Middle Schoolers tackle the ocean's depths, you know it will be a fin-tastic show! Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic and forgetful Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive and eclectic Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.
